Hunting Essential one must carry on the hunting day.

When you are going to the woods, you have to give massive importance to your hunting pack for survival. You must know that what all things are necessary. This is evident that as you will be carrying extra weight, your body will get exhausted more quickly.

Every individual has a different mindset when it comes to what are the essential items an avid hunter must carry with himself. I bring you some essential items that you must never leave your house without them.

Get More H2O:

There are several things you need for survival, but water is definitely the most vital. I would recommend you to always carry water in ample amount in your hunting day backpack. You should always save the majority of weight in your pack of water.

First Aid Kit:

Be it your blister on your heel, got a cut form cactus, or by a knife. A small first aid kit would do the work for you. It’s necessary to carry two or three Band-Aids, an anti-bacterial cream, a hand sanitizer, and anti-itch cream.

Make sure you carry it in an ample amount so that you won’t have to face challenges on hunt day.

Headlamp:

A headlamp is always a better idea to carry as you might be holding your weapon with you to kill the buck. Make sure you purchase the one with longer battery life and have features like strobe and SOS for an emergency. Modern-day headlamps are lightweight, and you won’t feel like you are carrying one in your hunting backpack.

Knife:

A sharp hunting knife is an essential element in your hunting day pack. This will help you to field dressing any animal.

Food/ Snacks:

When you walk all day, you get exhausted and hungry at the same time. While many hunters prefer having a pack of mixed nut in their backpack, others rely on packaged or processed food. While hiking, you can also chew protein bars and potato chips.

Game bags or trash bags:

These bags will help you to pack your game. However, these tail bags tear when it has heavy pieces of meat fill in it like that of a whitetail, so it would be worth investing in a game bag. These game bags are easy to use and are reusable.

A blanket:

A survival blanket would hardly take any space in your hunting day backpack but would be of great use when you see an animal in late hours and decide to have a camp there.

Rubber Gloves:

While doing field dressing of animals, you must make sure that you wear rubber gloves. This is to keep you safe from the bacteria and parasites an animal might have. That’s why it is mandatory to keep at least 2-3 pairs of gloves in your backpack.

Flashlight:

Whether you are tracking the animal after the sunset or at night, it is essential to have a flashlight with you at that time.

A lighter:

It is always a wise choice to have a lighter with you as you might need it to start a fire as you decide to track the animal after the sunset, or you choose to post-camp for the night, to burn something in case of emergency.

Your Hunting License:

Make sure you always keep it in a plastic bag to avoid any marks or cuts.
